Benjamin Phillips is an artist based in Hastings, UK.

Benjamin’s first collaboration with author Ziggy Hanaor Alte Zachen (Old Things) was shortlisted for a Yoto Carnegie Medal and was awarded two honours in the 2024 V&A Illustration awards: Illustration for Children, and the Moira Gemmill Illustrator of the Year.

He chats about making his latest release Shushu with Ziggy Hanaor (also with Cicada Books ) , another graphic story featuring adult female characters and young children.
Benjamin’s brilliance is how his drawings can say so much about the characters, and still seem understated.
